    Grade #1 is the highest quality Sumatra coffee. When people talk about the best Sumatra coffee, this is the one they mean. Earthy, full-bodied, and very complex. One of the true coffee classics and not to be missed.


    Sumatra Mandheling is known for its very heavy, almost syrupy and somewhat chocolaty body, low acidity, and not-so-subtle brown sugar flavor. The quality of the picking, preparation and processing of this renowned Indonesian coffee determines much of the character of this coffee. This bold, distinct coffee has an earthiness and pungency, yet it is velvety smooth. Its heavy body and rustic sweetness distinguishes the "Mandheling" type of coffee from most others.


    This coffee is the coffee-man's coffee - bold (yet low acidity), a rustic spicy sweetness and at the same time it is powerful - not for the faint of heart.
